Comfort

Awake, comfortable,
and remembering very little.

Dental anxiety is a clinical fact, not a character flaw, and it keeps people out of treatment for years. IV conscious sedation is administered in-office under Florida licensure with continuous monitoring.

Why patients come here

  • Practice limited to prosthodontics and oral implantology
  • Every case CBCT-scanned and fully guided
  • IV conscious sedation available in-office
  • A written, itemized plan before anything is scheduled

Three levels

Matched to the procedure and to you.

Local anesthetic

The standard for single implants and most restorative visits. You are fully awake and can drive yourself home. Modern local anesthesia is very effective — most single-implant patients need nothing more.

Oral sedation

A tablet taken before the appointment takes the edge off anxiety. You will be drowsy and will need a driver. Suitable for longer restorative visits and mild to moderate anxiety.

IV conscious sedation

Administered intravenously and titrated through the procedure. You remain able to respond but most patients recall almost nothing. The standard for full-arch surgery, grafting and sinus elevation.

Safety

Licensed, monitored, and staffed for it.

Dr. Resnik holds a Florida conscious (IV) sedation permit and maintains Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Sedation appointments are monitored continuously — oxygen saturation, heart rhythm and blood pressure — and the office is equipped and drilled for emergencies.

Your medical history, current medications and any previous experience with sedation are reviewed before an appointment is scheduled, not on the day. Some conditions change the plan; a few make hospital-based care the safer route, and we will say so.

Practical

If you are being sedated.

  • Nothing to eat or drink for the period given in your written instructions
  • A responsible adult must drive you home and stay with you for the rest of the day
  • Take your usual morning medications unless told otherwise
  • Wear short sleeves and flat shoes; leave contact lenses out
  • No driving, alcohol or important decisions for 24 hours afterwards

Most patients describe the appointment afterwards as having felt short. That impression is the point — a four-hour full-arch surgery that is remembered as forty minutes is a great deal easier to go through with.

Start with a scan and a straight answer.

A consultation includes an examination, a 3D scan and a written, itemized plan. If implants are not the right treatment for you, we will say so and tell you what is.
